it was just the game no longer accepting input. The main menu worked fine still, and the controls would restore when I'd be forced to try again, so I know it wasn't the controller. ![]() ![]() And this may sound odd, but the end of the flashback involves a sudden zombie attack (well, infected attack), and while this was well-done overall, the game literally killed me 3 times because, for no reason, the controls just stopped functioning from time to time. For one thing, the bulk of it involves teenagers sneaking out, going into a restricted area, which is not only close to soldiers (of a semi-totalitarian government) but also close to zombie infested areas, yet they run around, making LOTS of noise, and yelling “WEE!” (or the equivalent) A LOT!! This kind of thing always annoys me considerably, and this is actually one of the worst examples of it. As for the flashback segments, they're more than adequate, but they do suffer from a few problems of their own. Not to mention just the satisfaction knowing that a lot of raiders were lost during the time that the main game did not show. It works because Ellie was always the one that we, the audience, interacted with, rather than saw everything through, so hearing her thoughts and seeing how she approaches situations, similar but not the same as Joel, does add a good bit of bonus content. Also good is that we actually see an engaging bit of storytelling that takes place in the present, during a time in the main game (about 80% through) where Ellie is the one protecting Joel, rather than the other way around. ![]() 2h 44m PlayedThis DLC/Expansion does offer a solid bit of character building, and it does represent a rare instance where viewing someone's backstory is actually somewhat engaging. When you randomize your ROM, you can choose to apply a few minor tweaks which make the experience more enjoyable in the environment you're likely to be playing the randomized game in. There are small things it does to give you a better experience. For example, a trainer's random Pokemon will not suddenly use moves they were predefined to use in the original game - they will fully obey the (randomized or not) movesets they have been provided with. A decent amount of attention to detail has been invested in this randomizer and so pesky parts of the original games are unlikely to show through. By sending a couple of pieces of text or a small file you can easily make sure everyone has the exact same game to play with, without having to send around the entire ROM every time. An important part of Pokemon is competition, and racing your friends to complete a particular random Pokemon game can be a great experience. ![]() You can easily create the same random game repeatedly. Every main series Pokemon game released in the US is supported, from Red to Black2 and everything in between. If randomizing things like Pokemon types is just too confusing or unenjoyable, the randomization can be easily tailored to your particular needs. Naturally, you are able to choose exactly what is randomized in your particular ROM. The moves taught by move tutors, for games within which they are significant enough. The names of trainers & the classes they belong in.The "static" Pokemon which you either are given, fight on the overworld, or are sold. The ability of each Pokemon to learn each TM or HM move. The contents of each TM which can be taught to Pokemon to give them additional moves (HM moves are not changed to make sure you can still beat the game). The moves that Pokemon learn by gaining levels. ![]()
![]() I have Twixtor Pro and I rarely use it unless I need to stretch 1 second of footage to more than 3 or 4 seconds. Unless you are trying to create some extreme slow-motion where 1 second of real-time becomes 3 seconds or more of screen time, Pixel Motion will do a really good job of creating the extra frames needed for the slow-motion effect. The difference between this and Adobes built-in. ![]() The difference between Twixtor Pro and Pixel Motion is almost indistinguishable in a typical shot, but you may get some improvement in a shot with some really fast motion. This incredible plugin does a great job of producing smooth slow-motion footage. Twixtor Pro has more options and can do a better job, especially when you want to slow down footage. Pixel motion calculates the movement of the pixels and does a really good job of figuring out where the edge detail should be in the blended frames. For most shots, Pixel Motion is the best option. After Effects and Premiere Pro have virtually identical frame blending options. If you need to keep real-time in the original clip then you don't change the frame rate, you pick the best frame blending method. ![]() If your AE comp or your sequence is 29.97, which is the broadcast standard for all countries that use 60Hz power, then changing the frame rate of 25 fps footage to 29.97 fps (or 30 if you want) just means that 30 seconds of real-time will now playback in 25 seconds. If you want to keep every original frame then all you have to do is change frame rate interpretation of the 25 fps footage to the frame rate of the sequence (Premiere Pro) or the Comp (AE). When you talk about 25 fps footage and a 29.97 fps vs 30 fps I assume that you are trying to avoid any frame blending or minimize any frame blending problems. You would use Pixel Motion Blur or Force Motion Blur to perfect the clip. Frame blending will not do much if you want to speed up the motion. You will want to watch part 2 for the rest. The only thing you might want to do when you increase the frame rate of a clip is to increase the motion blur. 22K views 2 years ago In this tutorial, you will see part 1 which covers some of the new features in Twixtor 7, running on Premiere Pro and AE 2020. In this case, every other frame will be used. ![]() Increase from 24 fps to 48 fps and 10 seconds of realtime becomes 5 seconds of screen time. Increasing the frame rate speeds up footage. I'm sorry but I don't understand what you want to do. ![]() ![]() Pressing "f" to change to full screen will display the game. Some people do need to print in color quite frequently, and if that’s you, there’s a way to do so that’s more cost-friendly. What about those times when you need to print in color? Most office supply stores can print your document or those family photos on a professional-quality printer for relatively little money. Our survey data says they’re generally more reliable than inkjets in the long term, which is why many of the survey respondents who bought laser printers really love them. They print crisp text and they print it fast and economically. And that’s where monochrome laser printers excel. Our research shows that people print lots and lots of text in black and white, rarely print graphics, and almost never print photos. For typical at-home print jobs, a black-and-white laser printer is generally a better option. ![]() That’s why we find it difficult to recommend conventional inkjets. The typical consumer might spend $70 a year or more on ink cartridges, which can double the cost of ownership for a printer in as little as two years.Īnd finally, data from our surveys of CR members suggests that inkjet printers are not as reliable as laser printers.Īdd all that up and it’s no surprise that consumer satisfaction with inkjet printers, as measured in those same surveys, is quite low. Second, while they can be cheap to buy, they tend to saddle you with high ink costs for expensive replacement cartridges and wasteful ink maintenance cycles that are necessary just to keep the machine working. For starters, they often don’t do a great job of printing text, the primary job people want them to do. And while we understand that impulse-cheap is good-our consumer research and laboratory testing have found that for most consumers, there are better alternatives.Īccording to our expert evaluations, inkjet printers have three fundamental problems. If you’re like most shoppers, you’re probably looking for a cheap inkjet model. ![]() ![]() Describing the conference for a 2009 article in a linguistics journal, Isabelle remembered people “shaking their heads and spurting grunts of disbelief or even of hostility.” “We were all flabbergasted,” recalled Pierre Isabelle, a computer scientist who had been active in the field since 1975. Several years later, Canadian computer-translation researchers sat, shocked, as they listened to an IBM team describe for conference audiences a revolutionary new translation method the company had developed using, as quoted in their published paper, “our Hansard data.” As IBM wrote, “We have chosen to work with the English and French languages because we were able to obtain the bilingual Hansard corpus of proceedings of the Canadian parliament.” Then, the Hansard data arrived at their door. IBM researchers had a theory they had no ability to test. Today, a computer can scan a book that contains side-by-side translation and extract its text relatively easily in the 1980s, nothing remotely like that was possible. Running a probability analysis like that-one robust enough to map one entire language onto another solely on the basis of word frequency and order-requires a huge data set. Rather than a linguistic art, IBM saw translation as a matter of statistical optimization. ![]() They wondered what would happen if they simply looked at translation as a probability calculation, examining the frequency with which words appeared, and in what order, in any given language-sheer mathematical guesswork. But IBM researchers had a different idea. Computerized translation efforts were therefore based on attempts to deeply analyze the grammars of two languages and then program complex sets of rules that would tell a computer how to transform one of those languages into the other. Most researchers working on computer translation at that time primarily understood it as a linguistic problem: solving it would mean uncovering how a given language was structured. But computer scientists there started experimenting with the data it contained, wondering if they could use it to assist in their efforts to develop a method for automated translation. ![]() To this day, nobody is quite sure who sent the tape reel or whether they were authorized to forward it to IBM. ![]() The VirtualBox sources are available free of charge under the terms and conditions of the GNU General Public License, Version 3.
